This free 90-minute webinar for Pilates Instructors offers a unique opportunity to explore how the deliberate use of spontaneous ‘autogenic’ movement can deepen both your personal and professional practices. Grounded in the emerging trauma-informed neuroscience of TRE (tension & trauma release exercises) this innovative approach gives access to the body’s innate ability to release and reorganize deeply held patterns of stress, tension, bracing & pain through bottom-up, subcortical processes beyond the level of our conscious control.
In addition to an overview of the training pathways available for Pilates Instructors, participants will be guided through a brief theoretical overview and a direct experience of TRE’s neurogenic shaking process – witnessing firsthand how the body re-patterns itself from the inside out through spontaneous involuntary movement. You’ll also learn how this spontaneous movement regulates both the autonomic and somatic systems, making it a powerful complement to the top-down, cognitively directed precision of traditional Pilates.
While volitional movement engages only a small fraction of our neuromuscular system, autogenic movement taps into the deeper structures of the nervous system to restore balance and fluidity from within, empowering you & you clients with an additional entry point into the neuromuscular & movement systems to support & enhance the effectiveness of traditional Pialtes alone. Hosted by world leading TRE trainer and trauma-informed Physiotherapist Richmond Heath & assisted by Australian TRE Trainer Emiline Duncan, this free professional development webinar offers a practical introduction to a powerful modality to enhance and extend the work you already love.
