Broadening our Relationship with Neurogenic Movement – A Seiki Justu Masterclass for TRE Providers – With Dr William Sutherland – Aug 13th (Melbourne time)

Event Date:

13/08/2026

Event Time:

7:30 am

Event Description

This 90-minute masterclass will begin with an introduction to the history, philosophy, and living tradition of Seiki Jutsu (The art of the living vitally or the art of the lifeforce). We will explore the origins of this unique Japanese healing art and its understanding of vitality (seiki) and natural movement as the spontaneous expression of life itself.

The didactic portion of the session will introduce the three interconnected dimensions of the tradition: Seiki Jutsu, the practice of transmission and energetic attunement; Seiki Taisō, the movement practices that cultivate vitality, sensitivity, and embodied presence; and Seiki Ryōhō, the hands-on healing art through which practitioners learn to support the innate self-organizing capacities of the body. Together, these three aspects form an integrated path of personal cultivation, embodied healing, and relational practice.

The second portion of the masterclass will be experiential. Participants will be guided through a series of foundational Seiki Taisō practices designed to awaken sensitivity, vitality, and embodied awareness. Together we will explore the three core elements of Seiki Taisō—including natural sway and swing, breath and spontaneous voicing, and the expression through touch and gesture—and discover how these seemingly simple practices begin to organize into a living, spontaneous, natural expression of wholeness.

The session will conclude with an open discussion and question-and-answer period exploring Seiki Jutsu’s relationship to other somatic and embodied approaches, including TRE.
